Greg Soros Uses Industry Connections to Elevate Emerging Podcasters

Access to industry connections can determine whether a podcast survives its first year or fades into obscurity. Greg Soros, podcaster and audio producer at Podcraft Media Lab, has built a mentorship program that puts those connections directly in the hands of emerging creators.

Network as a Core Resource

Unlike programs that limit support to feedback and creative coaching, Soros actively integrates his professional network into the mentorship experience. Participants gain introductions to potential sponsors, distribution platforms, and collaborators contacts that typically take years to cultivate independently.

That access is paired with hands-on instruction in the operational side of podcasting. Mentees learn how to structure a pitch to advertisers, what to expect from distribution negotiations, and how to build revenue that holds up as their shows grow. Greg Soros views this combination as essential.

“Most mentorship programs focus on creative development, which is important but incomplete,” he explains. “We also teach the business fundamentals how to pitch to advertisers, negotiate distribution agreements, and build sustainable revenue models. That’s what transforms a hobby into a career.”

Closing the Accessibility Gap

The program reflects a conviction Soros has held since early in his career. “The podcasting industry has an accessibility problem,” he says. “We have the technical expertise and industry connections to level the playing field, but more importantly, we have a responsibility to amplify voices that haven’t traditionally had access to premium production resources.”

His training at Berklee College of Music and his years producing at major studios gave him both the skills and the network to act on that belief. The results have followed. Several mentees have signed distribution deals, and three of their shows reached six-figure downloads within their first year of release.

Among them is Maria Rodriguez, whose investigative podcast “Border Stories” won industry recognition. Rodriguez describes the program’s impact clearly: “What Greg understands is that mentorship isn’t charity it’s strategic ecosystem building.” For Greg Soros, podcaster and mentor, that framing captures exactly what he set out to build.
